Unlike coal, oil, and natural gas, a clean energy economy has the potential to create an abundance of energy in the future that ultimately brings the cost of energy down so much that future generations will see energy in an entirely different way. Instead of seeing energy as a limited resource that is becomming more scarce and expensive, a clean energy economy offers us the potential to harness and intelligently distribute virtually unlimited sources of energy through methods that allow the earth’s ecosystems to sustainably meet our energy needs.
Many politicians who are currently spending their days finding ways why the U.S. and the world can not embrace clean energy will most probably have shuffled off this mortal coil by the time human civilization moves from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. These people fundamentally are missing the capacity to apply the lessons from past American ingenuity to the present situation.
