FY 2009-2010:
1. Update and implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) as part of an overarching, long-term strategy that enhances the region’s success in achieving a rising standard of living by supporting existing industry clusters, developing emerging new clusters, or attracting new regional economic drivers.
2. Participate in the state (Arizona) designated North River Economic Region (Mohave and La Paz) Counties and South River Economic Region (Yuma County) in on-going activities to support regional coordination and cooperation in economic development activities.
3. Enhance, refine, and grow the District website to be THE economic development resource for practitioners, stakeholders, constituents, and the community as a whole for western Arizona.
4. Assistance to local communities on the planning for and the development of industrial parks and sites and small business incubators, and other economic development efforts.
5. Establish WAEDD as THE resource on economic development issues with community stakeholders and residents.
6. Raise awareness and visibility of WAEDD economic development efforts within the region with social media communication channels.
7. Develop a schedule of regular public web-based meetings to provide a vehicle for educating and assisting community stakeholders in effectively managing the technical elements of economic development – including robust community input for the CEDS.
8. Establish meaningful working relationships and share a common vision with ALL District communities for long-term economic development goals and objectives.
